Tools for Feeling Regulated (and Still Kinda Stylish).
Trading chaos for calm, here’s a stack of digital tools, objects, and rituals helping me stay regulated, focused, and unbothered (or at least less bothered than I was last week).
📱 Trello:
Simple, visual, and still undefeated. Trello’s been with me since my ecomm days, and it’s still my go-to digital to-do list on both desktop and phone. The columns keep me calm, the checklists scratch an itch, and the UI doesn’t yell at me like half the “productivity” apps out there.
🏼 La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra BB Tinted Cream SPF 50+:
A little glow goes a long way. I use this not only to look alive but to protect my skin (come through SPF 50+!). Only downside is that it occasionally smooches the collars of my shirts, so I might graduate to the non-tinted version soon…
🏦 CommBank’s CommSec App:
I’m in the early days of investing, and while CommBank isn’t perfect, it’s where I started (and starting somewhere is what counts!). I use ING for my main banking (cc; savings maximiser account 👀), and CommBank for everyday spending and ETFs. If you’ve got app recs or cautionary tales, I’m all ears.
🅿️ Photoshop:
The Adobe price hike hit hard, but job hunting has me in deep. I still use Photoshop for all my resumes and cover letters. Could I use something else? Sure. But Adobe is my native tongue, and I don’t fuck with Canva.
💤 Nanou ASMR on YouTube:
Nanou’s ASMR channel is soft, steady, and beautifully boring, which is exactly what I want in the evenings. I used to read before bed, but now I let a soothing whisper put me to sleep. Yes, it’s another screen. No, I’m not proud. But yes, it’s working. (And reading is now reserved for the bus ride to and from the office).
